Lynnfield — Mrs. Patricia J. (McCarthy) Finocchio, 70, of Lynnfield, and formerly of Lynn, died at her home on Friday, June 20, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was the wife of Vincent J. Finocchio, with whom she would have shared 48 years of marriage in October.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Jane (Flynn) McCarthy. She graduated from St. Mary’s Girls High School, and had lived in Lynn for most of her life, and had lived in Lynnfield for the past 15 years.
Patricia was a data base administrator for 25 years at M.I.T. in Cambridge, retiring 9 years ago. She loved to read and loved going shopping. But her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, Patty Tansey and her husband, Michael, Mimi Corrigan and her husband, Brian, and Thomas Finocchio and his wife, Kelly, all of Peabody; a brother Joseph McCarthy and his wife, Patricia, of Lynnfield; eight grandchildren, Katie, Molly and Michael Tansey, Brendan, Connor and Erin Corrigan, and Mia and Vincent Finocchio; a dear friend, Marie Anastos of Lynn; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Thomas McCarthy, Charles McCarthy and Jacqueline Cosseboom.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, at 9:30 a.m., from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Lynn, at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visiting hours are Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m.
