Canaan, N.Y. — Robert D. Cox, 77, of Canaan, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at home. Born in Bethany, W. Va., on December 14, 1934, the son of Harry V. and Blossom Delaplaine Cox. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of West Virginia at Morgantown.
Mr. Cox moved to Massachusetts in 1960. He was a teacher at Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston for 35 years, until his retirement in 1994.
He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. He completed Army Security Agency School and was a Morse Code Interceptor. Mr. Cox enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. He was an avid sports fan and also enjoyed to travel.
He leaves two children, Patricia Braunegg and her husband David of Concord, Mass. and Sabina Cox of Gilroy, Calif; two brothers, Glenn Cox and John Cox, both of Bethany, W. Va. and two grandchildren, Anneliese Braunegg and Daniel Braunegg. Mr. Cox will be deeply missed by his longtime companion, Shirley Meyer, with whom he made his home as well as her family.
