SALEM — Mrs. Patricia Anne (McInnis) Walsh, 50, of Salem, beloved wife of Charles B. Walsh Jr., died Thursday, October 11, 2012, at Beverly Hospital, surrounded by her family, following a weeklong illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of J. Donald and Patricia N. (Morrissey) McInnis. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.
Mrs. Walsh had been employed as a caregiver with Bass River Inc. and most recently she was the assistant to the Director of the Council on Aging for the City of Salem.
A communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Beverly, Pat dedicated her time to others, volunteering with the 4-H Club. She was involved with many aspects of church life at St. John’s, giving of herself in many avenues of spiritual life. She was dedicated to her family and volunteered as a member of the Booster Club of the Varsity Wrestling Program at Salem High School.
With an ever present smile, Pattee had a pleasant and gentle nature that she shared with all of whom she came into contact. She took great pride in her ability to help others, from the elderly to the boys of the wrestling team; she was always there with a helping hand or kind word. She will be deeply missed by all especially her caring family.
Pattee is survived by her husband of 28 years, Charles B. Walsh Jr. of Salem; her sons, Charles B. Walsh III, a member of the United States Coast Guard and his fiancée Danielle Phelan and Joseph D. Walsh, a student at Salem State University; her parents J. Donald and Patricia N. (Morrissey) McInnis of Beverly; her sisters, Charlene Tremblay and her husband Paul of Salem and Noreen E. McInnis of Peabody; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Charles B. Sr. and Joyce Walsh of Salem; her sisters- in-law, Susan Poublon and Lisa A. Walsh, both of Atkinson, N.H.; her brother-in-law, Jack Purdy of Haverhill, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many dear friends. She was also the sister of the late Donna Marie Purdy.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St. (Rte. 62), Danvers, Tuesday at 12:15 p.m., followed by her funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch St., Beverly, at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends invited. Burial is private.
