Margaret E. Crosby, 85

Danvers — Mrs. Margaret E. (Page) Crosby, of Danvers formerly of Beverly, passed away Monday, October 22, at Cedar Glen Health Care Center surrounded by her family. Margaret was born and raised in Beverly, daughter of the late Harold and Gertrude (Walsh) Page. She was the beloved wife of the late Carroll W. Crosby. The couple met while she was a clerk at the former Ropes Drug Store when Mr. Crosby returned home from World War II and ordered a milkshake. The couple would marry in 1947. Together they raised their family in the home he built.

Margaret enjoyed flying alongside her husband in their Tri Pacer airplane, frequenting many spots in New England. As a “snowbird” she also wintered in Florida, but enjoyed returning home to her family. She enjoyed time spent knitting, crocheting, cooking and puzzles, but nothing brought her more joy than time spent with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her four daughters, Carol Ann Ilges and her husband, Charles of Beverly, Nancy Silva and her companion, Wayne Smith of Beverly, Donna Boisvert and her husband, Michael of Exeter, NH, and Cathy Bimbo and her husband, Nick of Salem; one son, J. Michael Crosby and his wife, Kathi of Groveland; 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of George, James and Harold Page, Jr., Marie Guanci, and the late William Page, Angela Perkins and Helen Keyes.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service will be held in the Campbell–Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location), Saturday, October 27, at 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Margaret’s memory to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
