Peabody — Susan C. (Powers) Aylwin, 65, died peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2014, while in the comforting presence of her family.
Born in Georgia, she was the daughter of the late John and Claire (Brigham) Powers. She lived all her life in Peabody, and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1966. She later studied at Bryant and Stratton College.
Susan worked for Air Canada at Logan Airport before retiring as a sales professional with ADT Security Services.
Susan enjoyed shopping ventures, vacation travels and her recent cruise to Italy and Greece left treasured memories for her. She loved music, helping others, and was also involved with the Cancer Support Group at Lahey Medical Center in Burlington. She was most passionate about simple gatherings with friends, family, and spending time with the grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine Aylwin and partner, Patrick Smith, of Stow, MA and Jennifer LaMothe and husband, Jared, of North Sutton, NH; five grandchildren; a brother, John Powers and wife, Lisa, of Peabody and a sister, Diane Ferry of Danvers. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Nicholas Christopher Powers.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday, February 1, 2014, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. A private Memorial Committal Service will be held Monday at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
