Danvers — Mrs. Marion L. (Kearney) Staples, 96, of Danvers, beloved wife of the late Richard Bird Staples, died on November 23, 2013, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Richard F. and Anna (Humphrey) Kearney. She was raised and educated in Lynn.

A dedicated wife, Marion had a real passion for gardening and a true love of the out of doors. A resident of Danvers since 1950, she was a longtime, active member of the Holy Trinity United Methodist Church in Danvers. She dedicated much of her life to her church and helping others through their good works.

Her outgoing personality and lively nature will be missed by all who knew her.

Marion is survived by several nieces and nephews; and dear friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service, which will be held graveside in the Wadsworth Cemetery, Summer Street, Danvers, on Tuesday, November 26, at 10 a.m. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O’Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., Route 62, Danvers. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Marion’s memory to the Holy Trinity United Methodist Church, 16 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
