Mrs. Florence Adeline “Chickie” Jones died quietly at her home in Beverly on March 28, 2012 at the age of 75, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Carlo and Mary (Berthier) Derrah.
“Chickie” was well known on the North Shore as the proprietor of several Taxi Cab Companies. And for many years, she welcomed guests from behind the bar at the Beverly Elks Lodge. She was well known and much loved.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Gerald “Sonny” Jones; her brother Frederick Carlo and his wife Barbara; her sons, David Jones and his wife Faye, Jerry Jones, and Michael Jones and his wife Katrina; her daughters, Sandra Lerner and her husband Bruce and Virginia Shea and her husband Michael; her grandchildren, Andrea DiAnni, Darby Jones, Garrett Shea, Corey Shea, Jane Jones and Anabella Jones; and her three great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Ann MacRae.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in The O’Donnell Funeral Home 46 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common), Salem, Tuesday at 6:30 P.M. Relatives and friends invited.
