Mr. John Warren Robie, 78, of Beverly, beloved companion of Gail Gauthier, died Thursday afternoon, March 29, 2012, with his family by his side, at the Radius Health Care Center in Danvers.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Ralph W. and Edith (Greek) Robie. He was raised and educated in Saugus and was a graduate of Saugus High School.
An honorably discharged veteran, John served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Korean War.
Mr. Robie had been employed as a steelworker for many years and was instrumental in the construction of many bridges and structures throughout the state of Massachusetts.
A dedicated family man, John was an avid gardener who enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a dedicated companion, father and grandfather who loved the out-of-doors and sledding with his grandchildren.
In addition to his loving companion of over 28 years, John is survived by his devoted daughter, Diane Carol Rosenfield and her husband Lawrence of Lynnfield, his dedicated grandchildren, Melinda, Carissa, Kristen, Andre and Gabriella, his sisters, Phyllis, Shirley and Barbara and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late James and Norma.
