Eleanor M. (Paradise) Wernig, died February 11, 2012, after a period of declining health. She was born on January 3, 1930 in Worcester. She was a graduate of Beverly High School, class of 1947, and Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. A longtime resident of Middleton, she was employed as Chief of Pharmacy at both Salem Hospital and New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton.
She was predeceased by her husbands, George Pendergast and Walter Wernig. She is survived by a sister, Joan Rice of Glen, N.H.; nieces, Leslie Bennett of Gorham, N.H., and Robin Koczera of Nottingham, N.H.; nephews, David Rice of Duncan, S.C., and Jeffrey Rice of Beverly; as well as 8 grandnieces and grandnephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: At the request of Eleanor, a private funeral Mass was celebrated on Thursday at 10AM in St. Agnes Church, Middleton. Burial was held in Oakdale Cemetery, Middleton.
