Danvers — Edna Baert, wife of the late William Baert Sr., passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 16. From Winchester, Edna and Bill built their home in Danvers and their camp on Little Neck in Ipswich.
Edna found the most joy in her family. She spent hours in her garden and her lovely home. She was active in the Calvary Episcopal Church serving as lector, acolyte, on the Altar Guild and Calvary Caterers. She was a Visiting Nurse and Garden Club member. As lifetime members of the Jubilee Yacht Club in Beverly, Edna and Bill sailed the coast of Maine and the Bahamas aboard their sloop. Liebchen. Edna lived a life of adventure, love, and grace.
She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Baert Taplin; son William Baert Jr.; and dear friend Janet Parini, all of Groveland; grandchildren, Lisa Taplin Murray and husband David, Erika Baert and partner Kevin Welcome, Rebecca Taplin and husband Daniel Sigward; and great-grandchildren, Sean and Jacob Murray, Marlin Baert Welcome and Talulah Sigward.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 23, at 10 a.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church, 46 Cherry Street, Danvers. Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at a reception in the church hall following the service. A private burial will take place in Stoneham.
