Peabody and Salem — Girard “Pete” Gagne, 80, of Palm Harbor, Fla., and formerly of Peabody and Salem, died on February 6, 2013, surrounded by those he loved. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Arthur and Emilda Gagne, and devoted husband of 60 years to Patricia (Skoniecki) Gagne.
He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Lynn and Merrimack College, and proudly served our country for eight years in the U.S. Air Force. As a result, he further enhanced his interests and became a Radar Arts Specialist for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Pete was an avid golfer and enjoyed his “hole-in-one” accomplishment.
Besides his loving wife, he survived by his devoted sons, Kim Gagne of York, Maine, and James Gagne and his wife, Janie of Georgetown; his brother, Ronald Gagne and his wife, Lucille; his sisters, Claire Nawrocki and her husband, Stanley, Irene Richards, and Patricia Goodridge; his four grandchildren, Nicole Gagne, Sandra Gagne, Michael Gagne and his wife, Jessica, and Keith Lucia; and is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Cynthia Woods and Susan Sampson and her husband, George; and by three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Robert R. Gagne and Theresa LaJoie.
ARRANGEMENTS: His Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Ann’s Church, Lynn Street, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
