Peabody — Harvey H. Jenkins, 87, of Peabody, died Friday, October 25, at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of the late Rose (Rubico) Jenkins.
Born in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Temple and Jay (Tucker) Jenkins. He was raised in Locust, NC and had spent the last 60 years living in Peabody.
Harvey was a veteran of World War II who served with the United States Navy and was the recipient of the WWII Victory Medal, European-African and the Asiatic-Pacific Ribbons as well.
Harvey was employed as a mechanic at Holden’s Gas Station in Peabody for many years before he finally retired many years ago.
Harvey is survived by his siblings, Bernard Cascio and Sharon (Cascio) Dalton, both of North Carolina, his sister-in-law, Dorothy Rogers of Peabody and is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
