Valrico, FL — Martin "Marty" White, 86, beloved husband of Leonora White, passed away on April 5, 2014, with family by his side at his home in Valrico, Fla.
Born and raised in Peabody, he was the son of the late Patrick and Bridget (Walsh) White. Marty was born July 2, 1927, graduated from Peabody High School, and served in the United States Navy during WWII.
For most of his life, Marty was an electromechanical designer and retired in 1989.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lee White, as well as his children, Mary Ellen Dunham of Kittery, Maine, Patricia Zito of Hampton, N.H., Martin White (Denise) of Lee, N.H., and Heather McCranie (Rob) of Seffner, Fla.
He also had nine grandchildren, Erica Dunham (Craig Burmeister), Kelsa Shanley (John), Sean White (Shannon), Trista White, Patrick Zito, Alicia Gecoy (Greg), Joseph Zito (Laura), Ryan McCranie, and Halee McCranie; and eight great-grandchildren. He had one niece, Sheila D’Ambrosio(Richard); and two nephews, John White (Katie) and Philip White ( Christopher). He also leaves behind many other family members and friends. He was predeceased by his sons, Michael M. White and Kevin P. White; and his brothers, John P. White and Thomas M. White.
He was loved by all and will be missed.
ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of Marty’s life will take place on Friday, April 25, at 5 p.m., at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Rob and Heather McCranie in Seffner, Fla.
