Topsfield — Daniel Michael Weeder, 84, went home to God on April 10, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Louise (Fandel) Weeder, with whom he would have shared 60 years of marriage this August, and who has been his faithful caretaker for the past 20 years.
Born in Somerville on July 26, 1929, he was the son of the late James and Mary (DeAngelis) Weeder. He graduated from Revere High School. Daniel proudly served his country with the United States Navy during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged. He was an automotive mechanics teacher at the Lynn Vocational and Technical High School for 19 years. Daniel had been a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 179 in Revere and the Mass. Teachers Assoc.
He especially enjoyed spending time with his beloved family, the Red Sox and winters spent in Clearwater, Fla.
Besides his wife, Louise, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Daniel Jr. and Susan Kelly-Weeder of N. Andover, Mary DeAngelis and Marian Roth of Provincetown, Michael and June McLeavey of Jackson, N.H., Stephen and Tish Hanlon of Jackson, Linda and Kurt Schmakel of Middleton, Diane and John Amaral of Groton, and Donna and Eric D’Agostino of Topsfield; his 13 grandchildren, Dylan and Katherine Olmsted, Emma and Noah McLeavey-Weeder, Abbey, Lily and Julia D’Agostino, Duncan and Quinlan Kelly, Jonathan and Sadie Amaral, and Daniel and Maeve Weeder; his siblings, James Weeder Jr of Revere, and Marilyn Tucelli of Seabrook, N.H. He was predeceased by his sister, Jacqueline Dominic.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 15, at 10:30 a.m., in St. Rose of Lima Church, Park St., Topsfield. Burial is private and there are no visiting hours.
