Donald Campbell Seamans, 87


Marblehead — Donald Campbell Seamans of Marblehead, beloved husband of Beverly ( Benson ) Seamans, died in his home in January 22, 2014. He was 87 years old.

“Donnie“ was born in Salem, Mass., on January 19, 1927. He was educated at the Bowditch School of Salem, Lennox School and Middlesex School. After military service, he attended Bowdoin College, and was married and graduated in 1951.

Donnie was a proud and spiritual Yankee, born and raised with colonial history in his soul, he remained true to his own personal convictions and beliefs throughout his life. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and exceptional friend. Donny and Bevy loved traveling, sailing, and forging new friendships.

Donnie was president of Boston Lockport Block Company, executive vice president of Johnny Appleseeds, and handled the business affairs of his wife Beverly’s internationally acclaimed sculpture business. Longtime board president of the House of Seven Gables, a 66-year member of the Eastern Yacht Club, and a recent member of the Marblehead Yacht Club.

Donnie is survived by his son, John Seamans and his wife, Sarah, of Newbury, Mass.; his daughter, Jenny Butler of Palestine, Ohio; and his grandchildren, Holly and Daniel Seamans of Newbury, and Alex Butler of Palestine; as well as Abby and Ellie, the beloved poodles.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held at St. Michael’s Church in Marblehead. on April 26, at 11 am. A reception will follow.
