Salem — Mr. Robert J. Jaworski, 80, of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at Blueberry Hill Healthcare, Beverly, following a lengthy illness.
Born and educated in Salem, he was the son of the late John and Frances (Rakoc) Jaworski.
He was a graduate of Salem Vocational School. An honorably discharged veteran of the Korean War, Robert proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Naval Occupation Service Medal.
Robert was employed by the City of Salem as a custodian for most of his adult life. He enjoyed boating, and owned his own boat for many years. He loved Polish dancing, especially the polkas, and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by a brother, Louis Jaworski and his wife, Teresa, of Salem; a sister, Jane Jaworski of Peabody; two sister-in-laws, Roz Jaworski and Gina Jaworski, both of Salem; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Madeline Kotkowski and Alice Morin; and four brothers, Albert, Stanley, Henry, and Teddy Jaworski.
ARRANGEMENTS: A graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Street, Salem, on Friday, May 9, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the cemetery.
