Danvers — George W. Robinson, 91, passed away on April 30, 2014, in Masconomet Healthcare in Topsfield. He was the devoted husband of the late Martha Elizabeth (Straley) Robinson.
Born in Smithtown, N.Y., on September 12, 1922, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Reichert) Robinson. He was raised and educated on Long Island, N.Y. George was a longtime resident of Danvers, Mass.
He served his country with the United States Army during WWII, and was honorably discharged. George was employed as an engineer at General Electric in Wilmington for many years, before retiring. He was very active within his church, Our Savior Lutheran Church in Topsfield. He was also a Mason.
He is survived by his daughter, Peg Harmony; and grandchildren, Corey Sutherland and Nikole Harmony, all of South Hamilton. He was predeceased by his son, Richard Robinson.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, May 10, in Our Savior Lutheran Church, 478 Boston St., Topsfield. There are no visiting hours and the burial is private.
