Robert V. Noone


Peabody — Mr. Robert V. Noone, age 85, of Peabody, died on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, after a period of declining health. He was the husband of Norma B. (Gandolfo) Noone, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage.

Born and raised in Lynn, he was the son of the late John J. and Bessie (Murray) Noone. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s Boys High School, Class of 1946. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army and was a member of the second graduating class at Merrimack College, receiving his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1952. He had lived in Peabody for the past 55 years.

Robert was self-employed Real Estate Appraiser and was the Chairman of the Board of Assessors for the City of Peabody from 1979 until his retirement on Jan. 1, 2014.

He was dedicated to his family and his profession. As an avid gardener, he was proud of his vegetable garden and his homemade piccalilli. A world traveler, he and his wife visited six of the seven continents.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Stephen and Donna Noone of Peabody, Eileen and Jeffrey Bresnahan of Peabody, Annemarie and Jeffrey Adams, of South Burlington, Vt., and Claire and Robert Church of Peabody; 10 grandchildren, Rebecca, David, Robert, and Chelsea Noone of Peabody, Amy Taylor, of Peabody, Emily Adams of Raymond, N.H., Jimmy Adams, of Peabody, Marguerite and Kevin Adams, of South Burlington, and Anna Church of Peabody; a great-grandson, James Taylor Jr. of Peabody; three sisters, Eleanor Holland of Long Beach, Calif., Claire Kasle of Lynn, and Mary and her husband Joseph Modugno, of Lynn, as well as many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He was also the brother of the late James P. and John J. Noone, and Anna McDonald.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held on Saturday at 9 a.m. in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, (Route129), Lynn. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
