Mission Viejo, CA — Donald Arthur Martin passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at the age of 78, surrounded by his loving family. Don was one of seven children born to Eugenie and Arthur Martin. He graduated from Salem High School in 1951 and California State University, Long Beach, on August 27, 1976, with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration and Accounting.
He served in the Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Columbus, Ohio, where he met his first wife, Helen Marie Martin, whom he survived after 48 years of marriage.
Don worked for and retired from Rockwell International after 33 years of service. He was an active fisherman, golfer and ballroom dancer, where he met his current wife, Judy Yung Schroeder Martin. He is survived by his brother, Robert Martin of Danvers, Mass.; Joan and Bill Greener of Salem, Mass.; and Linda Austin of Salem, Mass.; his three daughters, Kathleen and Ken Henderson of St. Cloud, Minn.; Teresa Carpenter of Costa Mesa, Calif.; and Diane Martin and Reginald Morris of Downey, Calif.; his three grandchildren, Teresa, Melissa and John Henderson; and multiple nieces and nephews and stepchildren and step-grandchildren.
He was a man of great strength and love for his family.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral service was held on June 27, 2013, at St. Cecilia Church, in Tustin, Calif., followed by a reception. He had a Military Internment Service at Miramar National Cemetery in San Diego, Calif., on Friday, June 28, 2013.
