David W. Cowie, 75


Middleton — Mr. David W. Cowie, 75, of Middleton, formerly of Medway and Plymouth, passed away surrounded by his family early Saturday morning at the Lahey Clinic. Born in Bridgeport, Conn., he was the son of the late James and May Cowie. A graduate of Needham High School, David went on to work for a number of years in finance before founding his own company Professional Service, Inc.

He was the beloved husband of Diane (Tewksbury) Cowie, with whom he enjoyed worldwide travel. Together they raised their family in Medway. He enjoyed singing, and performed as a soloist and tenor in the church choir. In recent years, he served as chairman on the Council on Aging in Middleton. David will be remembered as a great lover of music, theater, cooking, and food, and for his outgoing and gregarious personality, and above all, as a devoted family man.

In addition to his wife, Diane, he is survived by his son, David Cowie Jr. and his wife, Ela, of Texas, and his daughter, Dawna Deiana and her husband, Robert, of Marblehead; his grandchildren, Consuela Andrew, Dominik Cowie, Emma, Meghand and Katherine Deiana; and his great-grandchildren, Rhyleigh and Gunner Andrew.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, on Tuesday at noon. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service, from 10:30 to noon. Burial will be private.
