Eva A. Ambrefe, 93, formerly of Beverly, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Sunrise at Gardner Park, Peabody. She shared over 60 years of marriage with her husband, John L. Ambrefe, who predeceased her on December 18, 2011.
Born in Salem, she was the youngest daughter of the late Francois and Amanda (Beaulac) Auger and was predeceased by 12 brothers and sisters. She attended St. Joseph Academy and received a high school diploma, later in life, years after she was married.
After her marriage to John, they settled in Beverly where she was a parishioner at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church. Ann held several positions during her working years including Almy’s and Woolworth in Beverly and a health food store in Salem, which is where she and John met.
Ann loved traveling, bowling, dancing and a daily walk in her younger years and Bingo in her later years. Her favorite treat was fried clams from the Village in Essex and she indulged in them as often as she could.
Ann is survived by many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Pro-Burial service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012, at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Cabot St., Beverly, at 9 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to meet at the church. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beverly, with a collation immediately following. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., #B102 Danvers, MA 01923-2764. Arrangements are under the direction of the David H. Gonet Funeral Home, 22 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem.
