IPSWICH — Stephen M. Harasen, 92, husband of the late Josephine J. (Nalepka) Harasen, died Thursday evening, Sept. 16, 2010 in the Beverly Hospital.
Born in Lowell on Nov. 2, 1917, he was the son of the late John and Ann (Kaby) Harasen. Mr. Harasen was a veteran of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. He served for 23 years in the Army. Following his active duty, he served in the Army Reserves for an additional 13 years.
He was employed at Honeywell, mostly in Lawrence, in computer design for 17 years. Mr. Harasen was a member of: the V.F.W. Post 1093, the Fabian Weltchek Post 92 P.L.A.V., and was a member of the Carrollton Council 498 Knights of Columbus, all of Ipswich.
He was predeceased by his wife, Josephine, on April 14, 2009. Mr. Harasen is survived by his brother, Chester Harasen of Washington state; and by several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his two brothers, Walter Harasen and John Harasen, both formerly of Haverhill.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, Sept. 20, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, Linebrook Road, Ipswich. Burial will be in the New Highland Cemetery, 29 Town Farm Road, Ipswich. Visiting hours will be Sunday, Sept. 19, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Morris Funeral Home, 45 North Main St., Ipswich.
