South Hamilton — Barbara E. (Stacey) Trowt, 88, died Monday, December 2, 2013, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Helen M. (Peebles) and Ernest W. Stacey. Barbara was the widow of the late Franklin D. Trowt Sr. with whom she shared 50 years of marriage. She was raised and educated in Beverly and a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1943. Barbara was also a graduate from Salem State College with a Masters degree in education. Barbara was a teacher for over 25 years for the Hamilton–Wenham School Department, but mainly taught at the Bessie Buker School in Wenham before retiring in 1985. Barbara enjoyed painting, was a talented artist and a member of the Beverly Guild of Artist. She was a loving wife a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be sadly missed all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her son, Franklin D. Trowt Jr. of Portland, Ore.; her daughter, Stacey T. Hubbard and her husband, J. Dana of Billerica, Mass.; a son-in-law, John A. Wright Sr. of Beverly; her grandchildren, John A. Wright Jr., Matthew, Andrew, and Caitlyn Hubbard; her two great-grandchildren, John B. Wright and Margaret (Maggie) Wright; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Wright; and her two brothers, Ernest and James Stacey.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, Saturday, December 7, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours are Friday, December 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be at Wenham Cemetery, Route 1A, Main Street, Wenham.
