Elinor F. "Ellie" (Morgan) Cole


Peabody, MA — Elinor F. “Ellie” (Morgan) Cole, age 92 years, of Peabody, died Wednesday, July 10, 2013, peacefully at home, while surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Arthur W. Cole Sr., and the daughter of the late Josiah F. and Frances (Barry) Morgan. Born and raised in Lynn, Ellie had resided in Peabody since 1955. A 1938 graduate of St. Mary Girl’s High School in Lynn, she worked in data processing for General Electric until her retirement in 1982. She was also employed by Executive Airlines for many years. Ellie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader and was active with the Peabody Council on Aging, where her activities included organizing events for the senior citizens as well as planning various trips for their enjoyment. She was also a member of Eastern Star, a women’s division of the Masonic Lodge.

In addition to her loving husband, Arthur, with whom she shared 61 years of marriage, Ellie is survived by her daughter, Judy Murphy and her husband, Jim; her three sons, Artie Cole Jr. and his wife, Lisa, Chuck Cole and his wife, Mary, and Dave Cole and his wife, Kathie; her grandchildren, Jimmy, Sean, Tracy, Artie, Chelsea, Deena, Leah, Chaz, Kerri, Ashley, Jessica, Kristi and Dylan. She also leaves several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Richie Cole and was also predeceased by her twelve siblings.
