Lynn, MA — Helena E. (Talbot) Michaud, a centenarian, died peacefully Sunday morning in her home, attended by family members, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Omer A. Michaud, and the daughter of the late Felix and Delima (Pelletier) Talbot. Born and raised in Salem, she was educated at St. Joseph’s School. She lived in Salem until 1958 when she moved and remained in Lynn with her husband and son.
Helena celebrated her 100th birthday in August with family members and friends. She lived independently until the last week of her life. She met her husband on a tennis court, one of her best memories. She was very proud of paying off her mortgage in less than five years and of her son’s doctorate in mathematics from Boston University. She outlived all five of her siblings and spouses as well as her husband’s siblings and spouses.
ARRANGEMENTS: She is survived by her son Dr. Richard Michaud of Boston, MA, grandchildren Robert Michaud of Boston, Dr. Christine Michaud of Chicago, Ill. She also leaves her great-grandchildren, siblings Marcus Michaud and Samantha Michaud, both of Boston, and sisters Aurora Michaud-Magill and Yasmine Michaud-Khan, both of Chicago, Ill.
Her funeral will be held from the SOLIMINE, LANDERGAN & RICHARDSON FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt129), Lynn, on Wednesday at 9AM, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, Lynn, at 10AM.
