Marie I. Michaud


Hudson, NH — An Angel went to Heaven on, December 22, 2012.

Marie I (Mel) Michaud, 88, joined her beloved husband, Ludger G. (Lew) Michaud, who predeceased her on December 14, 1993, for Christmas this year. She passed at Greenbriar Terrace after a lingering illness.

Born in Salem, MA on July 20, 1924, Marie had been a member of the Hudson Senior and St. John’s Evangelist Church. She lived in Pittsfield, ME for 20 years until she moved to NH in 1992. Marie will be remembered for her happy disposition and infectious smile; she loved all types of arts and crafts and loved sharing them with others. She loved Bingo and playing the organ or piano. Marie was always the life of the party and spread her happiness and joy wherever she went.

Marie leaves behind two daughters. Gloria Shortreed of Canal Winchester, OH, Patricia J. Durgin and her husband Nathaniel (Bud), of Hudson, NH, and a son, Laurence Michaud and his wife Barbara of Dracut, MA. She was the grandmother of 11 grandchildren, Rory Shortreed of CA, Diane Knapp of OH, Sandrae Weymouth of ME, Richard Shortreed of ME, Michelle Lowe of GA, Douglas Morin, Duane Morin, Paula McHale all of Danvers, MA, Matthew Morin of Derry, NH, Michael Michaud of Windham, NH and Steven Michaud of CA, a sister Jeannette Cates of Hartland, ME, a brother Norman LaForge of FL, several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marie was the daughter of the late William and Mary Jane (Cyr) Laforge.

ARRANGEMENTS: There are no viewing hours and a Memorial Service will be held and announced at a later date.
