Marblehead — Mr. Donald C. Leck, age 72, of Marblehead, died on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at a local nursing home. He was the husband of Amy L. (Collins) Leck, with whom he had been married for 38 years.
Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Donald W. and Dorothy (Legro) Leck. He was a graduate of Danvers High School.
Donald worked as a pipe coverer at the Boston Naval Shipyard, and then worked at Mass. General Hospital and at Zampell in Beverly. He was a member of Philanthropic Lodge F&AM, member and Past Master of Amity Lodge AF&AM, member of the Colonial Craftsmen, and member of the Gerry 5.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a son, Donald M. Leck of Salem, N.H., two daughters, Janice Turner of Methuen and Kristine Wells and her companion, Jeff of Derry, N.H.; his siblings, Marie Quinn of Marblehead, Andrew Leck and his wife, Phyllis of Maine, and Joyce Barbieri of North Conway, N.H.; two step-sons, Donald Wilkinson of Nahant and Steven Wilkinson and his wife, Karen of Colorado; an uncle, Norman Legro and his wife, Virginia of Marshfield; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews;and his beloved cats, Peter and Polly. He was also the brother of the late Stephen Leck.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Eustis-Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead. Burial in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
