Danvers — Hope Daniels, age 87, of Danvers died on January 17, after a brief illness. She was the wife of John Daniels to whom she shared 65 years of marriage.
Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of John and Ada (Chattaway) Barrowclough. She was a graduate of Holten High School, class of 1943. Hope and John met while working at Sylvania in Danvers. Later, Hope worked many years as a cashier at the First National in Danvers. Hope loved to travel with John to Portugal.
She was an admirer of hybrid tea roses and kept very busy every summer cooking and canning the vegetables from John’s garden. Going to lunch with her sister Dot’s bowling league every Thursday was a ritual Hope enjoyed.
She leaves her children, John Jr. and his wife, Ann of Weymouth and Susan and her husband, Victor W. Skop of Magnolia. Also leaving her grandchildren, Peter J. Daniels of Beverly, Christopher V. Skop and his wife, Jeanette of Northborough, Daniel R. Skop and his wife, Raquel of Somerville, and Michael J. Skop and his wife, Karen of Long Island, N.Y. Hope also leaves her great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Gabriella, Evelyn, and Victor Miguel. She was the sister of Dorothy Zwicker and husband, Paul, Arthur Barrowclough and wife, Edna and James Main and partner, Linda. Mrs. Daniels was predeceased by a brother, Donald Barrowclough. Hope had several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visitation on Tuesday from 12-1 p.m. A service will be held at 1 p.m. in the Mackey Funeral Home, Danvers.
