William J. Hatch, 86


Beverly — William J. Hatch, age 86, beloved husband of Dolores Hatch, passed away peacefully at the Essex Park Rehabilitation Center on Friday, January 18, 2013. Born and raised in Beverly, he was son of the late Elmer and Margaret Hatch.

A veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II, he served his country proudly. He was a general contractor and built many homes in Beverly and surrounding areas. A past Commodore of the Jubilee Yacht Club, he loved boating and took his family on many trips in and around the North Shore and the Virgin Islands. He built a home in Fryeburg, Maine, where they spent many years. Upon retirement, they relocated and made many friends in their new home in Port Charlotte, Fla. They returned back home to Beverly, to be close to family.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores (L’Heureux) Hatch of Beverly. He was loving father of three daughters, Donna (Hatch) Wholley and her husband, William of Salem, Patricia (Hatch) Williams of St. Thomas, VI, Caroline (Hatch) Spinale and husband, David of Peabody; two sons, Dana Hatch of Maine; Thomas Hatch of Beverly. He was a devoted grandfather of three grandchildren, Cara and Clinton Williams and Colleen Wholley. He is also survived by his sister, Pauline (Hatch) Georgandis of Beverly; and brother, Charles Hatch of Michigan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Virginia Hatch, Robert Hatch and Elmer Hatch.
