Pauline C. Mahoney, 73


Beverly — Mrs. Pauline C. (Carter) Mahoney, 73, beloved wife of James F. Mahoney, died Sunday, February 10, 2013, at her home. Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and Wanda (Furtek) Carter. She received her education at St. John’s Grammar School in Salem and graduated from Salem High School. She continued her education at the Beverly Hospital School of Nursing.

Mrs. Mahoney had been employed for many years as a registered nurse at the Beverly Hospital until the time of her retirement. She was a member of the Beverly Hospital Nurse’s Association.

In addition to her husband, with whom she shared 51 years of marriage, she is survived by her daughter, Susan M. Trefry and her husband, Scott of Ipswich; two sons, James F. Mahoney Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Reading and John C. Mahoney and his wife, Annette of Freedom, N.H.; four grandchildren, Bridget and Brian Trefry and Kevin and Anna Mahoney; one sister, Cecelia Wear and her late husband, Donald of Salem, one brother, Leroy Carter and his wife, Rita of Danvers, several nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch St., Beverly, Friday, February 15, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the Campbell–Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly (North Beverly location), Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in North Beverly Cemetery.
