Lynn — Elizabeth “Libby” (Kelly) McNulty, age 97, of Lynn, died Monday, February 4, 2013, at Union Hospital in Lynn, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late, Raymond McNulty, and the daughter of the late, Raymond Lawrence and Mary Isabella (Minnis) Kelly.
Born in Boston, Elizabeth was raised in Saugus, and moved to Lynn in 1952. She was a graduate of Saugus High School, class of 1933. During World War II, she worked at the Watertown Arsenal and in the mid 1960s she worked as a clerk typist for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in Boston. In 1968, she became the first woman to work in the Marblehead Post Office. She sorted mail there until her retirement in 1979.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth “Liz” McNulty of Lynn; her son, Raymond McNulty and his wife, Constance of Prides Crossing; a sister, Jane C. Kelly of Lynn; her grandchildren, Mary Katherine McArdle and her husband, P. Oliver of Manchester-By-The-Sea, Maura Berloni and her husband, Giovanni of Dubai, U.A.E. and Margaret Morgan and her husband, Conor of Glasthule, Ireland. She also leaves four great-grandchildren; her nephew, Raymond Kelly of Charlton; her niece, Dorothy (McClory) Gordinas of Lynn; as well as many Kelly, McNulty and McClory great-nieces and great-nephews. She was the sister of the late Nora, Mary, Ethel and Raymond L. Kelly.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from the Solimine, Landergan & Richardson Funeral Home, 67 Ocean Street (Rt.1A), Lynn, on Saturday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, Lynn, at 10 a.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn.
