South Yarmouth — Mrs. Centa Colvin, 92, formerly of Danvers, beloved wife of the late Ernest P. Colvin, died on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at her daughter’s home on Cape Cod, with her loving family by her side. Born in Haimhausen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Magdalena (Eberl) Messner.
Mrs. Colvin came to the United States in 1950, with her husband and children, and proudly became an American Citizen in 1957. She had resided in Danvers for 52 years, and had lived on Cape Cod with her daughter and son-in-law for the last three years. While in Danvers, she worked for 40 years as a sales associate for Filene’s and Macy’s. She had a flair and style for fashion, and was a wonderful cook and gardener, and brought much happiness to her friends and family. She will be greatly missed as a sweet Mom, a loving Oma and Tante.
Centa is survived by her daughter, Ernestine Pashoian and her husband, Richard, of South Yarmouth; her grandson, Alexander and his wife, Rachel, of Somerville; sister, Anni Past of Haimhausen, Germany; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Herbert Colvin; and sister of late siblings in Germany, Maria, Magdalena, Martin, Theresa, and Joseph.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services were held graveside, privately, at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Danvers, on May 16. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., Danvers.
