Beverly — Ada A. (Angers) Dean, 98, beloved wife of Edward S. Dean, died Friday, June 20, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by her family.
Born in Montreal, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Alma (L’Esperance) Angers. She immigrated to the United States in 1920, settling in Beverly where she had since resided.
Mrs. Dean was an accomplished seamstress and dress maker. She also taught arts and crafts at Essex Aggie as well as in Saugus and Newburyport. She was a founding member of the Essex County Needlecraft Guild, a member of SAGA and the Cross Road Quilters.
An avid car enthusiast along with her husband, she was a member of the Profile Auto League of New Hampshire, the North Shore Old Car Club and a member of M.O.A.L. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her husband, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage, she is survived by a daughter, Alma (MacKenzie) Bechard and her husband, Robert of Melvin Village, N.H.; two sons, Edward S. Dean of Beverly and James P. Dean and his wife, Dolores of Lynn; eight grandchildren, Kelley Bergeron, Jeff Bechard, Karynn Bechard, Kristin Pelletier, David Bechard, Katie Adjutant, Devon Dean and Samuel Dean, 10 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was also the grandmother of the late Barry Bechard.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly, Tuesday, June 24, at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly, Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial in the Hamilton Cemetery.
