BEVERLY — Ronald M. DeSantis, 77, husband of the late Sandy (Berkeley) DeSantis, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, at Golden Living Center in Gloucester. Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Mario and Malina (Tine) DeSantis.
Ron was raised in Beverly, and was a graduate of Beverly High School. Ronald served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. For many years, he worked for the City of Beverly in the Department of Public Works, and truly enjoyed his job. Ron was an avid Red Sox fan, and lover of cats and dogs. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and his stepchildren. Ron was also a friend of Bill W. for 45 years.
He is survived by three stepchildren, Jimmy O’Neill, Joe O’Neill and Kelly Robinson; his close friend, Anthony Prizio of Saugus; and his cousin, Sylvia Halloran and her husband, Bud, of Beverly.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, on Friday from 5 to 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of the visiting hours at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in Ron’s Memory to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Pl., Boston, MA 02215.
