Salem — Eleanor K. (Kenney) Remon, 84, of Salem died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 17, 2013, in the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Harold A. Remon.
Born and educated in Salem, she was the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Kroen) Kenney.
Eleanor was a longtime employee of the Salem Country Club, Peabody, where she worked for many years while raising her seven children.
Eleanor was an avid reader and football fan, and was looking forward to the start of this year’s football season. Eleanor was also passionate about her game shows, especially "Jeopardy," which she never missed. Family was at the heart of Eleanor’s world and she will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and many friends.
She is survived by her two sons, John Remon and his wife, Margaret, Thomas Remon and his wife, Pamela, all of Salem; five daughters, Johanna Keyes of Texas, Kathleen Burke and her husband, Robert, Rose Gaudet and her husband, Lawrence, Marybeth Wallace and her husband, Skip, all of Salem, Ruthanne Lizotte and her husband, Harry, of Lynn; a brother John P. “Bud” Kenney of Ipswich; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Mary Ruth Wallis.
