Taunton, MA, formerly of Salem, MA — Steven Moore, 54, passed away suddenly on June 14, while on vacation in Key West, Fla., with his loving wife, Veronica, by his side. Steve was born on February 22, 1960, in Salem, Mass. He was the son of the late Donald and Alice (Holloran) Moore of Salem.
Steve was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1978, where he gained notoriety as a tenacious, standout defensive football player, respected by every team in the then-Northeast Conference. He also attended Bridgewater State University. Steve was a loyal Red Sox and Patriots fan. In fact, loyalty was the hallmark of Steve’s character. He was a loyal friend, father and husband. All who knew Steve will miss him dearly. Bighearted, kind and loving, Steve will remain in our hearts forever.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Veronica; six children, Heather and her husband, Joshua, Gianna and her husband, Ryan, David and his wife, Athena, Jesse, Jon, and Dan; five grandchildren, Angelina, Rosalie, Arianna, Kathryn, and Ronan; two brothers, Brian Moore and his wife, Julie, and Donald Moore; his mother-in-law, Ruth Floyd; his best friends, Kevin McKinley, Johnny Santos, and Eric Harrison; and many relatives and friends, including his beloved dogs, Sox and Bo.
Steve’s passion was working with youths at The Chamberlain School in Middleboro, Mass., and previously at the YMCA Juvenile Detention Center in Brockton.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held at Christ Community Church, 518 Middleboro Ave., East Taunton, Mass., on July 12, at 10 a.m.
