Marlin L. Sload, 79


Beverly — Mr. Marlin L. Sload, 79, beloved husband of Priscilla B. Sload, died Thursday, November 22, 2012, at the Beverly Hospital.

Born in Florin, Pa., he was the son of the late Abram and Verna (Felker) Sload. Marlin was raised and educated in Maytown, Pa.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the U.S. Air Force.

Mr. Sload had been employed for over twenty years as a credit manager for the former SKYR Clothing Company in Winchester. At the time of his retirement he was employed by Nutter, McClennen & Fish Law Firm in Boston.

A resident of the city of Beverly since 1957, Mr. Sload was an avid gardener and skier for many years and in his later years enjoyed watching his grandchildren play in high school sports. He also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe with his wife.

In addition to his wife, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage, he is survived by a daughter, Jane E. Ouellette and her husband, Neil of Danvers; two sons, Allen W. Sload of Beverly and Douglas L. Sload and his wife, Tammy of Beverly; two grandchildren, Andrew and Emily Ouellette of Danvers; five sisters, Joanne Keck and her husband, Elmer, Janet Hogentogler and her husband, Ira, Peggy Kear and Linda Judith all of Pa. and Kathleen Riscitto and her husband, Peter of Montana; three brothers, Eugene Sload and his wife, Jill, Herbert Sload and his wife, Mary and Ronald Sload and his wife, Sandy all of Pa., and many nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Lloyd Sload.

ARRANGEMENTS: His services will be private. Arrangements by the Campbell – Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly.
