Bridgeport, Conn. — Shirley B. Spencer, age 91, of Bridgeport, passed away on November 30, 2012, at the Connecticut Hospice in Branford. She was the wife of the late Dr. Samuel Spencer.
Mrs. Spencer was born in Haverhill, a daughter of the late Morris and Ida Burger. She enjoyed a career as a real estate agent prior to her retirement. Mrs. Spencer was a longtime member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom in Bridgeport.
Survivors include her loving children, Marsha Kamins and her husband, Michael of Bloomfield, Conn., Elaine Dombroff and her husband, Robert of Avon, Conn., Susan Dworkin and her husband, Warren of Boynton Beach, Fla., and Carol Goldenberg and her husband, Marc of Salem; her grandchildren, Matthew Kamins, Jennifer Barretta, Andrew Kamins, Sara Newman, Adam Dworkin, Erica Dombroff, Stacey Dworkin, Mari Shor, Michael Goldenberg, Amy Slizofski and Alexander Dombroff; eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Stanley Burger.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services will take place on Monday, December 3, at 2 p.m. at Congregation Rodeph Sholom, 2385 Park Ave. Bridgeport, Conn. Burial will be at Rodeph Sholom Cemetery in Fairfield. Immediately after services the family will greet friends at Shirley’s home.
