Charlotte Homan, 86


Marblehead — Charlotte “Chickie” (Rollins) Homan, 86, of Marblehead, passed away on December 10 after a lengthy illness.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Lottie Rollins Walker and her husband, Frank Walker; and the late Frank Rollins. She was the wife of the late Richard Homan, Sr. Surveyor of Highways for the Town of Marblehead.

She owned and operated Homan Real Estate for over 40 years in Marblehead and was the recipient of many Realtor awards. After retiring, she and Dick moved to East Wakefield, N.H., where she continued to sell real estate and they spent many happy years together.

Chickie enjoyed bowling, gardening and various arts and crafts, but the times that she truly treasured were those spent with family and friends.

She leaves behind her sons, Richard and his wife, Carol, Robert David and his wife, Carol; daughters, Sandra Dixey and her husband, Barry all of Marblehead, Barbara Homan of Beverly, and Donna Sinclair and her husband, Charles of Salem. Gram adored her 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and they were the greatest joy of her life.

She also leaves behind close friends, Linda Homan Ringer and Father Richard Beaulieu both of Marblehead; sister-in-law, Barbara Rollins of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Charlotte was predeceased by her infant son, Frank Howard and her grandson, Jason M. Dixey, as well as her late brothers, Frank and Wallace Rollins.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Thursday evening, December 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Murphy Funeral Home, 85 Federal St. (corner of North Street), Salem. Funeral services will be private.
