Lynn, MA — Janet I. (Sisson) Roderick, age 77, lifelong resident of Lynn, died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Charles Stephen and Jennie (Langell) Sisson. Born and raised in Lynn, Janet was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1953. She was a homemaker and found joy cooking for her family. She loved dining out, attending parties and cookouts. She also loved working crossword puzzles, and playing Pokeno with friends at Meadow Court. She was a good listener and had a great sense of humor. She was humble, considerate, fair-minded, and constantly smiling. She was the type of person who made you want to be around because she made everyone feel special.
Janet is survived by her three sons, John Roderick and his wife, Patty of Peabody, Paul Roderick and his wife, Alice of Winter Park, Fla., and Brian Roderick and his wife, Lisa of Shrewsbury; her eight grandchildren, Terrence, Tracy, Steven, Jessica, Christopher, Ryan, Michael and Julianne; her seven great-grandchildren, Nicole, Michael, Anya, Kayla, Connor, Megan and Courtney. She also leaves several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Charles Sisson and his late wife, Marilyn.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial service will be held in the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway, (Route 129), Lynn, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Memorial visitation will be held on Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, c/o Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
