Beverly, MA — Roland Guilmet, 82, of Beverly left us to be with the Lord on May 29, 2014, at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers. Born in Salem, he was the son of Napoleon and Ida (Pinetta) Guilmet.
Roland attended St. Ann School in Salem, and the School for the Deaf in Beverly. He worked for Pelletier Rug and Acme Sheet Metal Company. He enjoyed playing cards, reading, gardening, music, and watching the Red Sox and Patriots.
Roland is survived by the mother of his children, Marilyn Lord, and their children and families, Michael Guilmet, Rick Guilmet, and Kimberly Brendan. He is survived by his siblings, Pearl Peruffo and Philip Guilmet.
He was predeceased by his son, Ronald Guilmet; his sister, Lorraine R. Rheaume; and his brother, Roger Guilmet.
Gil was also predeceased by his companion of 32 years, Kathleen (Kitty) Cassista. He is also survived by five of her seven children and their families.
He will be especially missed by his "Little Pest," his granddaughter, Sarah M. Steen, and the staff and friends he made at Dunkin Donuts in uptown Beverly.
Special thanks go out to Cheryl Stowe, Shirley Stewart and Candice Miles, his "angels on earth." We are grateful for the compassion he received at Kaplan Hospice House.
ARRANGEMENTS: Memorial service to be held at Living Hope Church, 556 Cabot St., Beverly, MA, on June 28 at 11 a.m. with Collation following in the Fellowship Hall. Donations can be made to the to Kaplan House in memory of Gil. The burial will be private.
