Marblehead — Barbara B. Percy passed away June 15, 2014, after a short illness. She was the widow of Minot S. Percy Jr. of Marblehead.
She was born on Sept. 22, 1926, daughter of George and Marjorie Bernard in Freeport, Maine. She attended and graduated from Freeport schools.
After graduating she moved to Boston working for IBM and met and married the love of her life, Minot S. Percy Jr. on Sept. 28, 1946 in Freeport.
In addition to raising her two children, Barbara cared for the elderly as a Home Health Aide.
She leaves two children and their families, Minot S. Percy III, his wife, Marci Macomber Percy and two sons, Gus and Judson Percy of Marblehead, Gail Percy Fitch and husband, Douglas L. Fitch of Phippsburg, Maine. Gail’s daughter, Brittany Borja and great-grandson, Chase Borja of Greenville, S.C.
She is survived by her sibling, Carole Whitmer of Tampa, Fla. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was predeceased by siblings, George, Ann, Louis, Richard, Patricia and Miriam.
She will be remembered by her bright blue eyes, sense of humor, and her baking.
