Beverly — Jean F. (Shea) Egan, 89, wife of John F. Egan, died Wednesday morning at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born in Beverly, daughter of the late Joseph and Marion (Harrison) Shea, she lived in Beverly all her life. She was a graduate of Beverly High School, Class of 1942. Mrs. Egan was a graduate of the Burdett Secretary School and was employed at the Beverly National Bank for 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish in Beverly. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She had many close friends, neighbors and “club girls” and will be missed by all who knew her.
Surviving her, in addition to her husband, are five sons, Thomas J. Egan and his wife, Linda of Medway; Dennis J. Egan and his wife, Janet of Beverly, John M. Egan and his wife, Dawn of Laconia, N.H., Joseph W. Egan and his wife, Marie of Beverly, and Christopher R. Egan and his wife, Carolyn of Medfield; one daughter, Jean Egan Belanger and her husband, Kevin of Danvers; 11 grandchildren, Lindsey, Ali, Daniel, John Patrick, Jacqueline, Ashlee, Ryan, Jessica and Courtney Egan, Joclyn and Nicole Belanger; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late John Shea.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly, on Tuesday, July 8, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly on Monday, July 7, from 3 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
