DANVERS — Elizabeth M. Martelli, 61, beloved wife of Stephen D. Martelli, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage, passed away Tuesday, January 14, at Kindred Hospital in Peabody, surrounded by her family. Born in Stoneham, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Theresa (McDonald) Meegan.
Betty, as she was known, grew up in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School. She was employed at Jordan Marsh in the sales department, and also worked as a claims adjuster for John Hancock.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, David Martelli of Nashua, NH; two brothers, Thomas Meegan and his wife, Jan, of Warwick, RI and Rob Meegan of Portsmouth, NH; four sisters, Rose Lerer and her husband, Neil, of Chelmsford, Mary Ellen Meegan of Merrimac, Helen Meegan of Stoneham, Theresa Freeman and her husband, Michael, of Summerville, NC; brother-in-law, Bill Goodhue and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her sister, Kathy Goodhue.
ARRANGEMENTS: A Funeral Service will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly on Saturday at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
