Jean Birarelli, 77


Beverly — Jean (Lucas) Birarelli 77, beloved wife of Richard Birarelli, died on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late John and Nellie (Copelas) Lucas. She received her education in the Beverly School System.

Mrs. Birarelli had been employed for over 40 years as a bookkeeper at Beverly Hospital, until the time of her illness.

A lifelong resident of Beverly, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage, she is survived by three sons, Michael Birarelli and his wife, Jacqueline, of Georgetown, James Birarelli of Beverly, and Joseph Birarelli and his wife, Nicole, of Beverly; four grandchildren, Gina, Timothy, Thomas, and Trey; a sister, Stella Beote of Salem; three brothers, Peter Lucas of Beverly, Michael Lucas of Peabody, and John Lucas of Beverly; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Helen (Lucas) Scouras.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral Services will be held at the Campbell–Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, on Thursday, January 23, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Beverly. Contributions may be made in her memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
