Mary Sarkisian, 79


Methuen — Mary (Naroian) Sarkisian, 79 of Methuen and formerly of Salem, MA passed away Sunday January 19, 2014 at Lawrence General Hospital.

Born and educated in Lawrence, she was the daughter of Kachadoor and Josephine (Boucher) Naroian and was a graduate of Lawrence High School.

Mary was A member of the Armenian Church of Hye Pointe of Haverhill. When the church was located in Lawrence, MA, she was an active choir member and Sunday School Teacher. Mary enjoyed cooking, crafts and spending time with her family especially her grand dogs.

The widow of Sarkis Sarkisian, she is survived by her children, Sarkis Sarkisian, Jr. and his wife Carol of Peabody, Deborah Christopher of Salem, NH, Cheryl Sarkisian and her husband Michael Raymond of Methuen and David Sarkisian and his wife Susan also of Methuen.

Sisters, Eva Naroian of Methuen and Eleanor Avedisian and her husband Dick also of Methuen; brothers John Naroian of Lawrence, Michael Naroian and his wife Sona of Methuen and sister-in-law Melanee Naroian of Lawrence.

Grandchildren Jason Christopher and his wife Melanie, Sarki Sarkisian, Gary Christopher, Samantha Sarkisian and Nicholas Christopher.

One great-granddaughter Madison Christopher.

Several nieces and nephews.

Mary was predeceased by her sisters and brothers, Peter and Rose Naroian, Margaret Pellerin, Harry and Archie Naroian.

ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Mary’s name to The Armenian Apostolic Church at Hye Pointe, 110 Main St., Haverhill, MA 01830. Visiting hours for family and friends will be on Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence St., Methuen, MA 01844. A funeral service will be held at The Armenian Apostolic Church at Hye Pointe, 110 Main St., Haverhill, MA 01830, on Friday, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem, Mass.
