Kathryn L. Doane, 90

BEVERLY — Kathryn Louise Doane, 90, passed away into God's care, holding hands with her love of 68 years, Walter "Bud" Doane, and surrounded by family. A wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, Kathy was a true angel on earth. Known for her green thumb, Kathy memorably transformed her lawn on Brimbal Avenue into a magnificent garden. Kathy was an active member of the Beverly Church of the Nazarene, where she served as a treasurer and organist for many years. She was a faithful volunteer at Beverly Hospital for over 20 years. Kathy, called "Meme" by her grandchildren, will always be remembered for the many cherished "Meme blankets" she sewed, as well as her baking, bouquets from her garden, and the magazine and news articles she liked to share. Most of all, Kathy shared a warm smile and loving heart with everyone she knew. She is so very loved and appreciated, and will be forever in our hearts.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children, Karen Melton and her husband, Charles, of Selinsgrove, Pa., Janet Doane of Topsfield, Kathy Doane of Beverly, and Eric Doane and his wife, Mary Beth, of Danvers; nine grandchildren, Kristin Patrican, Lauri Hoke, Michael Melton, Suzanne Russo, Janna Charette, Adam Doane, Bethany Doane, Hillary Doane, and Micah Doane; and nine great-great-grandchildren, Morgan, Jackson and Griffin Patrican, Ryan, Evan and Kaia Hoke, Karina and Connor Melton, and Gavin Russo. She was predeceased by her siblings, Erma and David.

ARRANGEMENTS: A Memorial Service will be held at the Campbell-Lee, Moody Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, on Saturday at 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A visiting hour will be held prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in Kathy’s memory to Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, 17001 Prairie Star Parkway, Lenexa, KS 66220, or Beverly Bootstraps, 371 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA 01915.
