Cynthia Sinclair, 83


Ipswich — Cynthia (Chase) Sinclair, 83, beloved wife of Robert G. Sinclair of Randall Road, Ipswich, died early Tuesday, January 28, 2014, in the Beverly Hospital following her brief illness.

Born in Beverly, May 10, 1930, daughter of the late Albert and Madeline (Jones) Chase, she was raised in Beverly, a 1947 graduate of Beverly High School. She went on to train as a registered nurse at the Beverly Hospital School of Nursing and for many years was employed at the Beverly Hospital from which she retired.

Devoted to her family, Cynthia enjoyed their many years of sailing the New England Coast, snowmobiling, and being a homemaker. She loved cats, enjoyed reading, knitting, vacationing at Lake Winnipesaukee and cheering on her children and grandchildren in their sports.

In addition to her husband of sixty-two years she is survived by three sons, Robert Sinclair, Jr. and his wife, Brenda, of Ipswich, Gary and his wife, Jan, of Amesbury, Bruce and his wife, Vickie, of East Kingston, NH; five grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Christopher, Elizabeth and Laura; great-grandchildren, Nate, Ella, Samantha, and Hannah; a sister, Eleanor Prior of Gilford, NH and brother, Ted Griffin of Alton, NH.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 1, in the Whittier-Porter Funeral home, 6 High Street, Ipswich followed by interment in the Cowles Memorial Cemetery, Ipswich. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed. Visiting hours are Friday, 4 to 7 p.m. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
