Salem — Mrs. Joyce A. (Spiers) Negron, 52, of Salem, loving wife of Eduardo Negron, died Sunday, January 26, 2014, in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Utica, New York, she was the daughter of Mary (Pappadouplos) Spiers and the late Homer Spiers. Raised and educated in Salem, Joyce was a graduate of Salem High School. She attended North Shore Community College where she earned her associate’s degree.
Joyce worked for many years as a Home Health Aide for several companies on the North Shore. She had also been employed as a waitress at Ocean View Assisted Living in Beverly. Joyce was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving her in addition to her husband, Eduardo and mother, Mary are two sons, Micheal Decelle and his longtime companion, Erica Carty, of Salem, Matthew Decelle of Beverly and her grandchildren, Baylee, Aiden, Kylie and Mikayla Decelle and her brother, David Hazard of Lisbon, Maine.
ARRANGEMENTS: A visitation will be held in the David H. Gonet Funeral Home, 22 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
