Myrtle Beach, SC. — William J. Lawless, 83, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., died on February 3, 2014. Mr. Lawless was the husband of Celeste (Lambert). He and his wife had moved to South Carolina from Florida and Reading, Mass. He leaves behind, in addition to his wife, daughter, Alicia (William) Nolan of Powell, Ohio; son, William (Crystal) Lawless of Woodbridge, Va., and daughter, Anita Lawless of Alexandria, Va.; three grandsons, Christopher and Thomas Nolan, and Cameron Lawless; and brother, John Lawless of Peabody, Mass.
Mr. Lawless was born on October 28, 1930, in Peabody, Mass., and was a son of Francis and Mary Lawless. He was predeceased by two sisters and one brother.
Mr. Lawless was retired from the U.S. Treasury Department. He was personnel officer for U.S. Customs Regional Office, Boston, as well as deputy assistant regional commissioner. He was a Korean veteran, serving with ASA. He was also a member of Hibernians and American Legion in Peabody.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, February 6, at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Myrtle Beach. Directed by McMillan-Small Funeral Home.
